For me the hardest thing about my pregnancy has been having to combine it with my full time job. It is not easy to decide when to start your maternity leave, but once I reached 26 weeks pregnant I had had enough. I worked in quite a manual position as a picture framer, and some of my duties were beginning to become quite difficult for me to carry out. One of the biggest problems was that my job was much easier to carry out standing up, but after a few months I found it almost impossible to stand up for the majority of the day.

My manager was actually really good with me. When I first became pregnant I had told them that I wanted to continue working for as long as I possibly could, and because of that I don’t think they had even thought of finding a replacement for me when I told them that I couldn’t go on. I gave them somewhat minimal notice that I was going to finish work, because I just snapped one day. I had been dealing with a really big job, and all the machinery I had to use felt like it was straining my stomach. The day was just exhausting and by the end of it I just marched into my manager’s office and told him that I couldn’t do it anymore. I agreed to finish the week, and he told me that it was fine! As is the way, the position is open to me after a period of a year, but I will have to see how I feel then! If I love my child as much as I think I will, then I will never go back!

You could also watch Sex and the City 2 movie online if that’s more to your liking. It’s not one of mine or the kids favorites, but for teenagers on up, it could be fun. When you get right down to it, just about anywhere is the best place for movie watching by kids or grown ups these days. After the kids go to bed, you may want to watch Killers (2010) movie online. It’s a pretty funny one that I really enjoyed. For the first time the other day, I was watching movies on the bus. I just got a new Nokia N900 for work, and it can play movies, music and do a whole host of other things as well. It’s my favorite new toy at the moment.

I bought and put one together in our backyard, during my second maternity leave. Our oldest daughter at the time was three, and we were having twins. Even though there was a park just across the street, my wife thought it would be a lot easier to just walk into the backyard. Trying to to coax a three year old, and push twin babies in a stroll would have been a handful. So, one fathers day, so many years ago, I put one up in the backyard. A few years later, I even added an addition to it comprised of climbing rungs, and another ladder. It’s still there to this day, and our oldest is now 16. I think it may be just about time to take it down.

One of the hardest parts of teaching children the guitar is helping them to visualize the placement of the hands. Holding down the guitar strings is quite unnatural to begin, and requires a bit of muscle memory to really capture the concept. An easy way to help the child visualize the correct placement of the fingers on the guitar is through the use of guitar neck paper.

This specialty paper is designed to mimic the guitar neck, laying out the strings and the frets. This allows the instructor to lay out the various chords onto the paper, with numbers being used for the different fingers. Although numbers are frequently used, other visuals that would help the student may also be used. Taken a step further the guitar paper may be cutout and placed underneath the strings. The child can place their fingers over the marks on the paper, figuring out the proper chords from the diagram.

Obviously, finding the right guitar for their practice is going to be crucial. Not only should the guitar be small enough for their compact size, but ideally the guitar is nice enough that the chords are easier to hold. The action on the guitar neck (the distance between the string and the frets) should also not be overwhelming for their small hands. Typically smaller gaps make for easier learning.

Teaching a child how to play an instrument is an excellent way to sharpen their mind, increase their creativity, and ultimately enhance their life. As difficult as it can be to focus a child’s attention on anything, once they have the fire to play, it will lay the foundation of a lifelong passion. Although the guitar is not always the first instrument that comes to mind for children, it may be just the right direction for a number of personality types. As with other music, the guitar takes practice, patience, and dedication to master.

It’s funny how, we can be so resistant to something as kids, but then when grown up we automatically just start caring more about those things. I’m actually pretty particular about my glasses these days. I wear mine all the time when working on the computer or watching television. While my eyes have gotten progressively worse over the years, they’re still not all that bad. And now, I think wearing glasses is not so bad. A bit of a fashion statement actually. Certainly a different feeling then when I was a kid.

Being a young mother is not easy. But it is surely very unlike what it was twenty or even ten years ago. Now it is much more fun and convenient and it’s easy to see why more and more women want to combine motherhood and their dynamic lifestyles. With breastfeeding tops it is possible to feed babies on the go, have them changed in special places and put them into comfortable carriers which makes life of a mother much more comfortable. When kids get bored it is possible to get nursery rhyme for them and see them enjoy the best of entertainment ever in the car, in the buggy or on a picnic. Thanks to the latest technologies, toddlers can enjoy cartoons on their mother’s laptops or even smart phones and let their busy parent get on with whatever needs to be done. It is great to entertain children with songs for kids as a great opportunity to have them happy and occupied with a good activity. Also, employment opportunities have changed for people and now it’s possible to have a breastfeeding baby and stay on the job, either form home or in the office. So it’s the best time to have a baby if you are a working mother.

Trinette Robinson sure has been having a lot of fun showing off her extremely smelly pair of sneakers. At the Annual National Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker contest she was announced the winner from a group of nine contestants. As the name of the contest suggests, all she had to do was prove that her sneakers were the smelliest! And well after doing a lot of work as a volunteer to help the environment and ardently spending time doing Girl Scout, Trinette didn’t really have a very difficult time getting a pair of very stinky shoes. That is possibly why the judges declared her the winner.

Odor-Eaters organizes this amazing competition every year and is on its 35th year now. Kids always love to participate in this because it is fun and different from the usual competitions that we always force children to participate in nowadays. That is possibly an added advantage of being a child, when gets to take part in such cool events. So tough competition was provided by eight other candidates but Trinette’s shoes were there to win! Of course the motivation was the entire line up of prizes. This includes a cash prize of $2,500 along with a trophy. Trinette took all of this home and more. That included an entire trip to New York City with everything paid for so that the winner gets to watch a staging of The Lion King on Broadway. If that sounds like fun, then there is more! An entire year’s supply of products from Odor-Eaters!

The Odor-Eaters products are always excellent for dealing with all types of stinks and that is possibly where they come in so extremely handy. The idea is to use them and get rid of odor which are actually stinks because they refuse to go away.

There are of course the old standbys, where you can pick just about any movie by Disney or Pixar, and your likely to end up with a movie that works well. But I know of a few parents, that aren’t too keen even with those standards. There have been some critics of Disney movies, that suggest they tend to perpetuate too many old stereotypes, and provide a rather whitewash vanilla cultural impression. Personally I think that’s a little harsh, and have always enjoyed the Disney / Pixar films, and so have my kids. You just have to take them in the context that they are intended.

I’ve noticed a recent development with my kids in particular when it comes to watching movies in our home. My girls are just a little beyond the Disney age, as they are 13 and 16. But what’s really funny as of late, is how they will come over with their friends, and start digging through and watching our old collection of Disney VHS movies. Now most of those movies like Lion King, and The Little Mermaid were always made with both children and parents in mind. They had a knack for writing jokes that would appeal to both parents and children. The kids got the jokes they were supposed to get, and the ones that were inappropriate for them, usually went right over their heads.

What’s funny about my kids watching those movies now, is that their old enough to get the jokes they weren’t able to understand as kids (cheetas never prosper). For them, it’s like watching the movie for the first time. It’s a bit of a unique phenomena that didn’t exist for previous generations. So on that count alone, I think these make great movies for kids. Now, that kids can watch movies online, I think it’s more important than ever that parents are involved in their childrens movie watching habits. If your kids are old enough, I think that Alice In Wonderland would be a great move for them to watch online.
