My kids on the other had seemed to have a more successful learning experience with it.  Their all girls, and picked up music from a fairly early age through their piano lessons.  I can’t say that they all took to it with the same enthusiasm, but it’s still there none the less.  While they progress fairly well with the lessons, at the moment their lives as early teens are too busy with all their other academic pursuits.  So it’s taken a back burner role at the moment.  I do know, that it’s always there for them in their hip pocket if they decide to use it in the future.  Just another life skill, and an important ingredient to shaping their lives as young adults.
